The Central Board of Direct Tax (CBDT) has decided to give an extension to due dates for filing Income Tax Returns along with the reports of audit for the assessment year 2021-2022.

The major due dates regarding the same are as follows:

Filing ITR for AY 2021-22 for non-audit cases.

15/01/2022

Filing of Tax Audit Report & other audit reports for AY 21-22.

31/01/2022

Filing of Report u/s 92E for AY 21-22.

15/02/2022

Filing ITR for AY 2021-22 for Cos & other audit cases.

28/02/2021

Filing ITR for AY 21-22 for cases covered u/s 92E .

31/03/2022

Filing Belated /Revised Return for AY 2021-22.

Note:

  1. Interest @ 1% pm u/s 234A for late filing of ITR shall be payable for ITRs filed after 31.7.21 if self assessment tax exceeds Rs. 1 lac.

  2. Self assessment tax paid by a senior citizen without business income upto 31.7.21 only shall be treated as advance tax.
